Lithopone

A Versatile White Pigment for Industrial Applications

Lithopone is a white pigment made primarily from barium sulfate and zinc sulfide. It is valued for its excellent whiteness, opacity, chemical stability, and resistance to light and weathering. Lithopone is commonly used as an alternative or extender to other white pigments in various industrial formulations.

It is widely used in the manufacturing of paints, coatings, plastics, rubber, printing inks, adhesives, and leather products. Lithopone provides good covering power, smooth dispersion, and helps improve the appearance and consistency of finished products.

Its relatively good resistance to chemicals and heat makes it suitable for applications where durability and stable colour are important. Different grades of lithopone are available depending on the required whiteness, particle size, and performance characteristics.
